Jim Jefferies

Jim Jefferies

Australian born Jim Jefferies is an international headlining performer. Jim succeeds with jokes that most comedians wouldn't touch with an ability to both charm and offend the crowd in equal measure.

Caustic? Charming? Controversial? Call him what you will, but stand-up phenomenon Jim Jefferies is acknowledged as the fastest rising, most hilarious cutting edge comic ever to claw his way to the top of the comedy world.

Born in Perth, Western Australia, Jim Jefferies trained as an opera singer before turning to stand-up. Jefferies wowed audiences at the 2005 Just for Laughs as part of the 'Nasty Show' and in 2007, he was punched on stage at the Manchester Comedy Store which made him a YouTube sensation.

He has since appeared on countless tv shows (Have I Got News For You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Comedy Blue, The World Stands Up, The Tonight Show w/Jay Leno, Paul Provenza's Green Room and many more), toured his comedy around the world and released numerous DVD specials (including his HBO comedy special I Swear To God). His most recent show, Fully Functional, will be aired on EPIX in the States this autumn and released on DVD later this year.

Hailed by critics and loved by his legions of fans, Jefferies' glorious roasting of society's most sacred cows has made him a headlining sensation around the world. After dominating the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the fourth time with Alcoholocaust,Jim proceeded to take over the States with his boyish charm and unparallelled comic ability. In mid-2012, Jim was offered a sitcom on FX which is to be released in early 2013. The show, Legit, will be based on Jim's own experiences and will be both written and performed by him.

Currently based in the US, Jim is not expected to return to the UK until 2014 at the earliest. And we can't wait!

He was born Jeffries but had to add an 'e' to hs surname to avoid confusion with an American performer of the same name.
