GetComedy and Blippar warm up the comedy crowd at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with interactive ‘try before you buy’ brochure.

Mobile visual discovery app, Blippar, today announces an exciting collaboration that will see this year’s GetComedy’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival brochure brought to life with interactive content using Blippar’s pioneering image recognition platform. Comedy fans at the world famous summer festival will be able to watch exclusive trailers of this year’s top comedy acts, and be able to instantaneously book tickets to shows directly from the free Blippar enabled brochures.

Comedy fans at the Fringe festival will also be able to “blipp” any Scottish ten pound note to access exclusive GetComedy video content and buy tickets to the performances.

GetComedy is bringing some of the best-known and critically acclaimed names in comedy to this year’s Fringe Festival including Marcus Brigstocke, Glenn Wool & Andrew Maxwell, and with Blippar on board to add an innovative teaser to the event, this a more exciting year for GetComedy than ever before.

Every page of the GetComedy brochure will be blippable, which is a huge leap into the digital world for the comedy industry. Comedy fans with the free Blippar app (available on iOS, Android and BlackBerry 10) simply hover their phone over the interactive marker images to watch trailers of the comic’s performances and book tickets for the live shows at the festival.

GetComedy posters around the Edinburgh Fringe Festival will also be Blippar enabled, offering the same interactive content as the brochures.
