Rhys Darby is an actor & comedian probably best known for his role as Murray in HBO's Flight of the Conchords .

An ex-soldier in the New Zealand Army and a veteran stand-up comedian, Darby made his feature film debut in Yes Man (2008). He then went on to feature as one of the DJs in Richard Curtis' film, The Boat that Rocked (2009).

His standup has been described as a sensational blend of sound effects, characterisations and askew observations. His career has taken him from his homeland of New Zealand, to the U.K. and beyond. In 2004 he appeared in the Flight of the Conchords BBC radio series as the band's manager alongside Rob Brydon, Andy Parsons and Jimmy Carr. He then went on to star in the television series of the same name for two series on HBO. The release of his standup DVD, Rhys Darby: Imagine That! filmed live in LA is one of his proudest achievements.

He portrayed Anton in the 2014 release comedy horror film What We Do in the Shadows and in 2016, he guest-starred in an episode of The X-Files.
