Award-winning comedian, actor, presenter and one of the most exciting voices in British comedy, Emmanuel Sonubi has rapidly become a household name thanks to his commanding stage presence, powerful storytelling and effortless ability to connect with audiences.


A back-to-back double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, Emmanuel was nominated for Best Newcomer in 2022 and Best Show in 2023, firmly establishing himself as one of the leading voices in contemporary stand-up. His international success has been equally remarkable, earning a nomination for Most Outstanding Show at the prestigious Melbourne International Comedy Festival, one of the highest honours in world comedy. He was also nominated for Best Club Comedian at the Chortle Awards, shortlisted for the NextUp Comedy Award for Best Show, and was the recipient of Mervyn Stutter's Spirit of the Fringe Award for his critically acclaimed show Life After Near Death.


A regular headline act at the UK's biggest comedy clubs and festivals, including appearances at the prestigious Montreal Just for Laughs, New York World Fringe Series and international comedy festivals across Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. 


Emmanuel's television career continues to go from strength to strength.

He famously headlined BBC's flagship stand-up showcase Live at the Apollo in 2022 before returning to host the show in 2024.

Emmanuel Sonubi Stand Up Sketch Show  


Before comedy, Emmanuel enjoyed a successful career in musical theatre, starring in the title role of the West End production of Daddy Cool. He also spent years working as a nightclub doorman and in IT, experiences that now fuel much of his unique and relatable comedy. 

His latest show, Life After Near Death, draws on Emmanuel's remarkable real-life experience of suffering heart failure while performing on stage.


Combining heartfelt honesty with huge laughs, the show has sold out across the UK, Europe, Australia and North America, cementing his reputation as one of comedy's most compelling storytellers. Warm, charismatic and relentlessly funny, Emmanuel Sonubi has become one of the most in-demand comedians working today and is widely regarded as one of the leading stand-up performers of his generation.
